"Charlotte Carpenter is a storyteller, an artist capable of applying an enormous impact." – Clash

Rigby Music and Loop Studios are proud to launch 'Sitting In With...', a new series of in-store and studio events, with a first session in store at Rigby Music featuring the brilliant Charlotte Carpenter.

A rising force in the UK's alt-Americana scene, Charlotte is known for her smoky, blues-soaked vocals and emotionally charged songwriting. Drawing comparisons to PJ Harvey and Lucinda Williams, her music explores love, loss and resilience with raw vulnerability and bold instrumentation.

Her 2023 debut album, ‘A Modern Rage’, earned acclaim from Guitar Mag, DIVA Magazine, Nonchalant Mag, God Is In The TV, BBC Introducing and 6 Music. And Total Guitar sited Charlotte as a “Guitarist to Watch”.

Charlotte has played hundreds of grassroots stages and festivals, building her career step by step and entirely independently. Her latest single, 'You Look Free, and I'm Not', is her first self-produced release. Sitting somewhere between Radiohead and Americana, it tackles social injustice and the complexities of human existence in a rapidly evolving digital age. It was marked by a headline tour announced for September 2026, alongside festival appearances at Icebreaker, Focus Wales, Manchester Folk Festival, The Alt Escape and Latitude.
